Sacred Footprints

This a a wonderful old example of a classic Hindu amulet from India. It represents the sripada (the divine footprints) of Vishnu, the God of Preservation. Vishupadada amulets are supposed to protect the wearer from all calamities. Judging by the obvious wear, it is most likely over one hundred years old. Found in Rajasthan India. PLEASE NOTE: CHAIN NOT INCLUDED. ALSO: Because of the nature of this piece, we have absolutely no idea of the metal content! Most of the time, they used partial silver but we make no guarantees about metal content, as these were made in villages. People with known metal allergies should only wear this outside of clothing!
