DIVINE DURGA

This Hindu pendant comes from Rajasthan, India. It is old, possibly (probably) antique. These pendants were handmade in villages, and each one is a unique piece. They were worn to honor the God or Goddess depicted on them, and to ask for divine intervention. This patrie is of Durga. She is a fearsome incarnation of Parvati (wife of Shiva; the ideal woman). Durga comes to Earth to punish evildoers, to slay demons and to protect the innocent and meek. Her vehicle is the tiger. This piece is extremely old; almost undoubtedly a true antique. It is so old that the metal has actually worn through in spots. It has been lovingly repaired in the back near the top and is sturdy now, thanks to this extra plate. PLEASE BE AWARE: WE DO NOT KNOW THE METAL CONTENT OF THESE PIECES! They are genuinely old. They are most likely NOT sterling silver. If they cause allergic reaction, please wear them over your clothes.
